Leah being attacked by her favorite thing – pooch smooches!

It was a total no-brainer to choose Leah as November’s walker of the month! She has been our Lead Dog Walker for some time.  Even though the role has transitioned and morphed greatly over the last year – this walker hasn’t missed a step! LDC is excited to share more about Leah with you, especially now that she has hit the sidewalks again more regularly and your dogs are spending so much time with her!

Leah was born and raised in Ohio, but we don’t hold it against her 😂. She grew up in Mansfield, OH and has always loved animals. Her home was filled with too many pets to count, and she knew from a young age that she connected with animals in a special way. Leah says, “I’ve just always had a special place in my heart for all animals, especially dogs. I connect with them. I love helping, caring for, and loving on them!”  You may notice a common theme amongst our staff that they knew early on that they were destined for a life of wagging tails and pooh smooches and Leah is no different!

Leah and her wife, Andrea

Leah met her now-wife Andrea in May of 2016 and moved to Michigan in March of 2017 so they could move in together.  In August 2019 they tied the knot and currently live in Ferndale where they snuggle up to three precious pups!   They agree on most things, and Leah reports that the biggest debates are sports related – Andrea is a Michigander and roots for U of M and Detroit teams while Leah loves the Buckeyes, Browns, Indians, Cavs.  (Editor’s note: 🙄)  One thing they ALWAYS agree on is that their dogs Parker, Roxy, and Chuck are the center of their universe and to say those dogs are spoiled would be a gross understatement.  Not that anyone reading this Blog could relate to that…. 👀

In 2019, Leah decided to enroll in CATCH: Canine Trainers Academy for dog training, since her connection to dogs is much deeper than walking, and is expecting to finish early 2021!  We already utilize Leah’s natural ability to connect with dogs, counting on her as our go-to for any of your pups with special needs. She has been working diligently to achieve her degree and looks forward to the possibility of joining forces with LDC to make pup obedience available right along with our other services! See? 2021 is already looking up!

With winter closing in on us, Leah will continue to support our walkers as they take care of your precious pups! Hand warmers, poop bags, non-slip shoes!? She’s got them covered! So thank you for helping us celebrate the fact that Leah landed right here in our pup-lovin’ hub!
